Obituary of Patricia Miller

Patricia passed away peacefully in Seville, Ohio on July 30, 2017. Patricia was born in Barberton, Ohio on March 1, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Harold Gilbo and Helen Maude Milan of Akron, Ohio. She was also preceded by her brother, Charles T. Gilbo, who heroically flew 73 missions in WWII and her sisters, Dorothy & Katherine Gilbo. Her daughter Pamela Ann Moyer passed away in 2014. 
Patricia is survived by her son, Ronald Carl Metzner of Fairbanks, Alaska; his wife, Hequing Wang; her grandson, Robin, and his new wife Kelly. She is also survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Mortensen of Creston, Ohio and her husband, Brian, and her grandsons, Alexander & Benjamin.
Patricia grew up in Akron, Ohio and attended St. Sebastian’s, Barberton High School and received her Registered Nursing Degree at Akron City Hospital’s School of Nursing program in 1945. Patricia was known for sharing her stories of scrubbing for Dr. Bob Smith known to many from the AA programs and beyond. Pat was a nurse at Akron City Hospital and a member of the Army Auxiliary Nurse’s Corps during WWII.
Patricia was a very loving person who sacrificed her whole life for the sake of her children. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Patricia was a woman of faith and enjoyed sharing her love with her patients and those who came into life. 
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Monday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304, where calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
