I graduated from St. Mary's in 1966. Mr. Waickman was the teacher that best prepared ,me for life beyond school with practical lessons (like how to file my income taxes) that I've used time and again throughout my life. I was blessed with the opportunity to tell him what a great teacher he was when I happened to meet him in line waiting for The Christ Child Society to open their Christmas Show (where he did his holiday baking each year. Although it was over 50 years since he last saw me,he graciously greeted me like I was still his student...which, of course I still am. May God Bless you with Heavenly Peace and Joy, dear teacher.
My deepest sympathy to the family...Connie Nonno Rayl
I was very sadden to learn of the passing of one of the most dedicated teachers I ever had. Even though it's been well over 50 years since he taught me at St. Mary he never failed to recognize me whenever I ran into him. We would always share a story and a laugh. I don't think he ever missed a Mass for one of his former students, so it is with great sorrow that I will not be able to attend his Mass this morning. May the angels guide you to Heaven. RIP
