Francis (Frank) Joseph Gallagher has fought the good fight and finished the course on February 1, 2018 after a courageous 9-year battle with cancer. Born May 7, 1936, he lived his entire life in the Akron area, graduating in 1954 from St. Vincent High School. On February 15, 1958, Frank married the love of his life, Charlene (Rose). They became active members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Frank was a union sheet metal worker for 60 years as a member of Local 70, now Local 33. He enjoyed anything NASCAR, NFL football, playing golf with friends, and having lunch with sheet metal retirees and family. He was a proud grandfather. He loved going to see the children and grandchildren participate in various sports. His faith, loving family and positive outlook allowed him to survive many years of treatment for colon cancer. Frank was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Lucille (Walsh) Gallagher, brother Edward and brother-in-law Jack Rose. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Charlene; son Mark, daughters Linda (Jerry) Geist and Cheryl (Keith) Pomeraning, grandchildren Meghan and Evan; step-grandson Michael (Beth) Geist and great-grandsons Alexander, Anthony and Jacob. Also surviving are his sister Gloria (John) Kuhar, sisters-in-law Patsy (Bill) Johnson, Janice Agler, Kathy Rose and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
